북한에 무기·탄약 보낸 중국계 불체자 체포

샌버나디노 카운티 온타리오에 거주하던 남성이 북한으로 무기 등을 보낸 혐의로 체포됐다.     연방 법무부는 3일 보도자료를 통해 총기와 탄약을 롱비치에서 홍콩을 거쳐 북한으로 보낸 혐의로 중국계 셩화 웬(41)을 체포했다고 밝혔다.     연방 수사 당국은 8월 14일 그의 집에서 북한으로 보낼 계획이었던 군사용 기기 두 대를 압수했다. 그로부터 한 달 후 탄약 5만 발이 추가로 발견됐는데 웬은 이 탄약이 북한으로 향할 계획이었다고 인정했다.     마틴 에스트라다 연방 검사는 “미국에 적대적 국가로부터 미국을 지켜내는 것이 매우 중요하다”며 “북한 정부의 지시에 따라 총기, 탄약 등 군사물품을 북한으로 불법 배송하려 한 혐의를 받는 피의자를 체포했다”고 밝혔다.     아킬 데이비스 연방수사국(FBI) LA지국 부국장은 “수사팀은 북한 정권에 추가로 금수 물품이 넘어가는 것을 막았을 뿐 아니라 미국과 동맹국에 중요한 정보를 수집했다”고 했다. 그는 “제재를 회피하고 악의적인 목적으로 무기와 기술을 활용하는 적대국에 대한 불법 수출을 전담으로 하는 요원들의 노력이 자랑스럽다”고 덧붙였다.     웬은 ‘국제긴급경제권한법(International Emergency Economic Powers Act)’ 위반 공모 혐의를 받는다. 중범죄인 해당 죄목의 법정 최고 형량은 20년이다.     한편 연방 수사 당국은 중국 국적의 웬이 불법으로 미국에 체류하고 있는 상태라고 전했다. 그는 2012년 학생 비자로 미국에 입국한 후 한 번도 출국하지 않았다고 한다.     기소 인정 절차는 몇 주 안에 이뤄질 전망이다.   김영남 기자북한 중국 불체자 체포 총기 탄약 international emergency

Theta Signs Up Jamcoding as the First Corporate Customer of EdgeCloud AI

Yeosu City Closes ‘1st Yeosu International Webfest' with Great Success

Yeosu City announced on the 9th that the '1st Yeosu International Webfest', which was held from the 4th to the 7th at the Yeulmaru GS Caltex area in Woongcheon, successfully concluded.   The Webfest, featuring 1,306 works from 76 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia, culminated in an awards ceremony on the 6th, where 53 awards were given in 3 categories, after intense competition.   Yeosu City's self-produced web drama ‘Hamel’ received a special award. Other top honors included Korea's ‘Daedaejangson’ in the web content category, Korea's ‘Penguin's City’ in the short-form category, and Spain's ‘Howl’ in the music video category.   Before the awards ceremony, Yeosu City signed MOUs with renowned webfest committees, including the World Webfest(U.S.), British Web Awards(U.K.), Rio Webfest Awards(Brazil), and Azyl(Slovakia). Dental Zirconia Manufacturer UNC International Awarded Top Exporter with $3 Million

Dental Zirconia manufacturer UNC International (CEO Yu Su-kwon) announced that was awarded the top exporter with $3 million in exports at the 60th Trade Day Commemoration Ceremony.   The 60th Trade Day Commemoration Ceremony took place at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on December 5th. Additionally, it boasts rapid processing capabilities with a 40-minute single crown and 4-hour full-arch speedy sintering process. This product enables consistent shading within the temperature range of 1500℃ to 1560℃.   UNC International's CEO, Yu Su-kwon, stated, "We plan to globally unveil the rapid sintering block, UVS, which we have successfully developed, at IDEM in Singapore next April. We expect that this will serve as a stepping stone to further increase our overseas sales ratio.
