On March 15, the special contemporary art exhibition "HEREDIUM SERIES" opens, featuring works by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Othoniel, and more.   (2025.01.20) HEREDIUM, Daejeon’s leading cultural space, is getting reputation with providing diverse exhibitions and performances.    Rebuilt within a restored heritage site with a 100-year legacy, HEREDIUM has transformed the historic building into a vibrant space for culture and the arts. The name "HEREDIUM," derived from the Latin word meaning "a land passed down through generations," reflects its mission to bridge the past and present while envisioning a creative future.   HEREDIUM’s recent exhibitions focus on showcasing works by contemporary artists who, while relatively lesser-known in Korea, have gained significant recognition internationally Visitors can find inspiration in contemporary art displayed in a unique space that preserves traces of the past.   Currently, HEREDIUM is hosting a solo exhibition by renowned German contemporary artist Markus Lüpertz. Titled Sins, Myths, and Other Questions, the exhibition delves into Lüpertz’s groundbreaking exploration of the interplay between abstraction and figuration. His innovative "Dithyramb" concept challenges traditional artistic boundaries, creating a unique fusion of seemingly opposing elements.   Under the slogan "Painting for Painting’s Sake," Lüpertz emphasizes the interaction of color and form, pushing the limits of the medium. This critically acclaimed retrospective has drawn widespread praise and will remain on view until February 28, 2025   Starting on March 15, HEREDIUM will present a special contemporary art exhibition, HEREDIUM Series, featuring works by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Othoniel. The exhibition explores various social issues, inviting audiences to move beyond binary thinking and engage in meaningful dialogue that deepens understanding and evokes empathy through the art.   HEREDIUM’s Director, Ham Seon Jae, expressed, "We hope the Markus Lüpertz exhibition inspires visitors to explore contemporary art from new perspectives and discover diverse interpretations. Our mission is to create a space where art connects and communicates with audiences."   The Markus Lüpertz solo exhibition, "Sins, Myths, and Other Questions," is open from September 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, at HEREDIUM (735 Daejeon-ro, Dong-gu, Daejeon, South Korea). The exhibition is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and during the Lunar New Year holidays (January 28–29). Visiting hours are from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last admission at 6:30 PM). [보험 상식] SEP IRA vs SOLO 401(k)

지난 11월 남가주한인치과협회(KADA)에서 주최한 2024 콘퍼런스에 다녀왔다. 아메리츠 에셋이 스폰서로 참석했고, 그곳에서 이제 막 치대를 졸업하고 일을 시작한 젊은 치과의사들을 많이 만나볼 수 있었다.     많은 이들이 월급을 받는 치과의사로서 1099 독립계약자 신분으로 일하고 있었는데, 한 가지 흥미로운 점은 이들 중 상당수가 SEP IRA를 통해 은퇴 자금을 준비하고 있었지만, Solo 401(k)의 장점과 혜택에 대해서는 잘 알지 못하고 있다는 것이었다.   월급을 받는  치과의사들의 특수한 상황을 고려할 때, Solo 401(k)는 SEP IRA보다 더 매력적인 선택이 될 수 있다.     현재 SEP IRA는 자영업 소득의 25% 또는 6만9000달러(2024년 기준) 중 더 적은 금액까지만 기여할 수 있다. 반면 Solo 401(k)는 직원과 고용주 자격으로 둘 다 적립이 가능하다는 큰 장점이 있다. 직원 자격으로 2만3000달러까지, 여기에 고용주 자격으로 자영업 소득의 25%를 추가로 기여할 수 있어 같은 6만9000달러까지 저축이 가능하고, 더 낮은 소득 수준에서도 최대한도 달성이 가능하다는 장점이 있다.     더불어 50세 이상이라면 Solo 401(k)에서는 추가로 7500달러의 캐치업 기여가 가능하지만, SEP IRA는 이러한 캐치업 기여 옵션이 없다.   연봉 20만 달러인 치과의사 경우 두 은퇴 계획의 차이를 살펴보자.     ▶SEP IRA   자영업 소득의 25%만 기여할 수 있다. 20만 달러의 25%는 5만 달러. 최대한도 6만9000달러 달성을 위해서는 연봉 27만6000달러 이상이 필요하다. Catch-up 기여는 불가능하다.     ▶Solo 401(k)   직원 자격 기여 2만3000달러, 고용주 자격 기여 20만 달러의 25%는 5만 달러. 총 가능 금액은 7만3000달러다.(한도 6만9000달러까지만 허용). 50세 이상 시 추가 7500달러 Catch-up 기어가 가능하다.     특히 주목해야 할 점은 SEP IRA의 경우, 향후 치과 사업을 확장해 직원을 고용하게 될 경우 3년 이상 근무한 모든 직원에게 본인과 동일한 비율로 기여금을 제공해야 한다는 것이다. 이는 미래에 상당한 재정적 부담이 될 수 있다. 반면 Solo 401(k)는 이러한 제약이 없어, 사업 확장 시에도 더 유연한 선택이 될 수 있다.   젊은 치과의사들에게 특히 유용한 Solo 401(k)의 또 다른 특징은 Roth 옵션이다. 연봉제로 경력을 시작하는 시기는 상대적으로 세금 구간이 낮을 수 있으므로, Roth를 통한 세후 기여는 장기적으로 큰 세금 혜택을 가져올 수 있다. 특히 많은 젊은 치과의사들이 Roth IRA를 통해 세후 기여의 장점을 이미 경험하고 있지만, Solo 401(k)의 Roth 옵션은 Roth IRA의 낮은 기여 한도(2024년 기준 7000달러)를 뛰어넘어 최대 2만3000달러까지 세후 기여가 가능하다는 큰 장점이 있다. 향후 개인 치과를 개원해 더 높은 소득 구간으로 이동할 것을 고려하면, 지금 이러한 Roth 전략을 활용하는 것은 더욱 매력적이다.   더욱이, Solo 401(k)는 최대 5만 달러까지의 대출 옵션을 제공한다. 이는 미래에 자신의 치과를 개원하거나 기존 치과를 인수할 때 유용한 자금원이 될 수 있다. SEP IRA는 이러한 대출 옵션을 제공하지 않는다. 물론 Solo 401(k)는 SEP IRA보다 설정과 관리가 약간 더 복잡할 수 있다. 하지만 주요 투자회사들은 크게 단순화했으며, 혜택들을 고려하면 충분히 가치 있는 투자라고 할 수 있다.   이번 콘퍼런스를 통해 젊은 한인 전문가들이 자신의 몫들을 톡톡히 해내는 모습을 보며 한인 커뮤니티의 위상이 날로 높아지는 것 같았다. 더욱이 자신들의 미래를 위해 재정관리에 높은 관심을 보이는 모습이 인상적이었다. 이러한 점들을 고려할 때, 이제 경력 초기의 젊은 전문가들이 Solo 401(k)와 같은 더 나은 선택지를 검토하고, 전문 재정전문가와 함께 체계적인 재무계획을 세워나가길 바란다.   ▶문의:(213)284-2616 클라우디아 송 / CCFS, CLTC·Financial Advisor 아메리츠 에셋보험 상식 solo ira roth ira ira 자영업 반면 solo

Monochrome Painter Jaewon Jung to Hold Solo Exhibition

Jae Won Jung, a monochrome abstract painter known for expressing the philosophy of space-time, creation, and dissolution, will hold her solo exhibition 〈THE WAY THINGS GO〉 from September 22 to 24 at NY COSMOS Gallery (formerly New York K&P Gallery), located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan.   In this solo exhibition 〈THE WAY THINGS GO〉, Jung explores the process of creation and dissolution within space-time through collections and sequences that embody order and balance. By delving into the relational dynamics of space and time, her unique attempt to express the interaction between unexpected and unchanging elements of lines results in the ultimate vision of a monochrome painter. Her works, marked by the crossing of black lines, reveal the principles of irregularity derived from simple elements.   A representative from the gallery commented, "The gallery, located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan, is internationally known for contemporary art collections and exhibitions. Jung's works have already garnered significant interest and attention from collectors in New York and both domestic and international art markets. In the selection process for this solo exhibition, among many outstanding artists from countries such as the U.S., Japan, Korea, Germany, China, Italy, France, Colombia, and Turkey, Jae Won Jung's highly refined and emotionally compelling monochrome abstract works left a strong impression, which led to her finally being selected through fierce competition and invitation as a solo exhibitor.   Each piece in this exhibition compresses essence through lines reminiscent of Jung's signature Oriental mark making. The works are characterized by dynamic forms, moving lines, and an interplay of unstable balance, with restrained thicknesses of black lines and geometric cross-compositions. They feature irregular transformations in form, all reflecting the artist's philosophy of the limitless possibilities of lines. Jung remarked, "A line is not merely a drawn element, but a system of creation and dissolution," offering a glimpse into her philosophical perspective on the infinite transformation of lines in each artwork.   Jae Won Jung explores the aesthetic possibilities of painting, photography, and film, combining poetic imagery with philosophical and introspective storytelling. She uses various media, such as painting, installation art, photography, and film, to express her thoughts and emotions in unique ways. After graduating from Yonsei University in Seoul with a degree in Bachelor in Laws, Jung earned her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. [재정설계] 솔로(Solo) 401(k)

연방노동국 통계에 따르면 2021년 7월 기준, 비법인 자영업자는 957만명으로, 세계 금융위기 당시인 2008년 이후 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다.     특히 코로나 19 사태 이전과 비교하면 IRS에 신규 사업자로 납세자 식별번호(TIN)를 신청한 건수는 56% 급증했다고 한다. 이는 전체 취업자보다 자영업자가 훨씬 더 많다는 방증이기도 하다.     자영업자가 갖는 매력은 많다. 하지만 한 가지 중요한 결점이 있다. 바로 회사나 기업에서 제공하는 은퇴연금 플랜, 401(k)을 누릴 수 없다는 것이다.     그렇다고 자영업자들을 위한 은퇴플랜이 없는 것은 아니다. 개인이 할 수 있는 IRA부터 비즈니스를 통해 할 수 있는 SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, Solo 401(k)등이 있다. 하지만 개인이 할 수 있는 은퇴플랜보다 비즈니스를 통해 할 수 있는 은퇴플랜이 훨씬 더 다양하고 혜택 범위도 넓다. 각각 플랜마다 가입 조건과 연간 최대 적립금, 세금 혜택 또한 다르다. 어떤 플랜들은 직원 수에 따라 가입이 허락되지 않는 플랜도 있다.   오늘은 직원 없이 혼자 사업을 운영하는 일인 자영업자, 프리랜서 등 독립계약자에게 알맞은 은퇴플랜 중 Solo 401(k)에 대해 알아보도록 하자.     Solo 401(k)은 말 그대로 자영업자를 위해 설계된 401(k) 플랜이다. 이 플랜은 직원 없는 1인 고용주만 가입할 수 있는 조건이 있다. 따라서 한 명의 직원이라도 있다면 가입할 수 없다. 단, 최소한으로 일하는 배우자는 가입이 허락된다. 따라서 가족으로서 수입에 따라 적립금을 두배로 더 늘릴 수 있는 혜택이 있다.     Solo 401(k)의 최대 장점은 고용주가 고용주도 되고 동시에 종업원도 된다는 사실이다. 다시 말해 직원으로서도 저축하고, 고용주로서도 저축할 수 있어서 일반적인 다른 비즈니스 은퇴플랜보다 더 많은 저축이 가능한 플랜이다.   Solo 401(k)은 크게 두 가지 방법으로 적립하게 된다. 하나는 고용주가 넣어주는 적립금과 다른 하나는 종업원이 넣는 적립금이다. 고용주가 넣어주는 적립금은 employer contribution이라고도 부르며, 월급의 25%까지 Profit Sharing 형식으로 적립하게 된다. 2023년 연봉 상한선은 33만 달러다. 종업원이 넣는 적립금은 Employee Salary Deferral이라고 부르며, 자신의 월급에서 최대 2만2000달러 또는 연봉의 100% 중 적은 금액을 적립할 수 있다. 만약 50세가 넘으면 catch up 7500달러까지 최대 6만6000달러까지 불입이 가능하다.   Solo 401(k)이 갖는 또 다른 장점은 Loan의 기능과 Roth 옵션을 제공한다는 것이다. 비즈니스 은퇴플랜으로 가장 많이 사용하는 SEP IRA의 경우에는 론을 허용하지 않는다. 하지만 Solo 401(k)은 론이 가능하고, 편드의 50% 혹은 최대 5만 달러까지 대출을 받을 수 있다.     Roth 옵션은 나중에 돈을 인출할 때 세금을 면제해 주는 혜택으로 미래의 나의 세율을 따져 은퇴전략을 짠다면 유용하게 활용할 수 있다. 은퇴 후 기타 수입이 많아 세율이 높아질 것 같다면 Roth 를 선택하는 것이 좋고, 반대로 은퇴 후 수입이 줄어 들것으로 생각되면 지금 수입을 낮춰 세금을 줄이는 쪽을 선택하는 것이 좋다.   Solo 401(k) 는 일방적인 401(k) 플랜셋업 보다 절차가 간편하다. 401(k)를 운영하는 모든 기업은 매년 국세청(IRS)과 노동청(DOL)에 플랜운영에 대한 사항들을 FORM 5500 양식을 통해 보고해야 할 의무가 있다. 하지만 플랜의 총금액이 25만 달러 미만이라면 굳이 보고하지 않아도 된다고 규정하고 있다. 그래도 승인된 기록을 보관하기 위해선 Solo 401(k)인 경우, 5500-EZ 양식을 제출하는 것이 좋다.   어떤 플랜이 나에게 적합한지, 필요한지는 경험이 풍부한 공인재정상담가나 재정전문가에게 상담받고 결정하는 것이 중요하다.   ▶문의: (213)284-2616  클라우디아 송 / 아메리츠 파이낸셜재정설계 solo 자영업자 비즈니스 은퇴플랜 은퇴 플랜 자영업자 프리랜서
