Tom: Some are for my girlfriend and some are for her mother.

Bill: Her mother? That's overkill don't you think?  
 
빌: 어머니? 그거 너무 지나친 것 아니야?  
 
Tom: No I don't think so. I want to win her over.  
 
탐: 아니 난 그렇게 생각하지 않는데. 날 좋아하도록 만들고 싶어.  
 
Bill: Your girlfriend or her mother?  
 
빌: 여자친구 말야 그 어머니 말야?  
 
Tom: I want my girlfriend's mother to like me.  
 
탐: 여자친구의 어머니가 날 좋아하셨으면 좋겠어.  
 
Bill: Her mother is going to see right through it.  
 
빌: 그 어머니가 네 속을 뻔히 들여다보실텐데.  
 
Tom: Should I back off a little on the flowers then?  
 
탐: 그럼 꽃은 그만 둘까?  
 
Bill: Well I wouldn't give her mother flowers right now.  
 
빌: 나라면 지금 여자친구 어머니에게 꽃같은 걸 드리진 않겠어.  
 
Tom: I guess you're right.
