[오늘의 생활영어] a no-brainer; (생각할 필요도 없이) 당연하네요

Joe and Wes are talking at work…
(조우와 웨스가 직장에서 얘기한다…)
 
Joe: Did you ever get your computer fixed?
 
조우: 자네 컴퓨터는 고쳤어?
 
Wes: You had to bring up my computer.

 
웨스: 자넨 꼭 컴퓨터 얘기를 꺼내야겠어.
 
Joe: Since I couldn't fix it I have been wondering if anyone came up with the solution.
 
조우: 내가 고칠 수가 없어서 다른 사람이 방법을 찾았는지 궁금한 것 뿐이야.
 
Wes: Not yet. A lot of people have looked at it but no one has found the problem.
 
웨스: 아직. 많이들 보긴 했는데 아무도 문제를 못찾았어.
 
Joe: What are you going to do?
 
조우: 어떻게 할 거야?
 
Wes: I think it's a no-brainer. I have to buy a new one.
 
웨스: 그거야 당연하지. 새 컴퓨터를 사는 거야.
 
Joe: What kind are you going to buy?
 
조우: 어떤 종류로 살 건대?
 
Wes: I don't know. I guess I'll have to start shopping around.
 
웨스: 잘 몰라. 골라보기 시작해야지.
 
Joe: I'll go with you if you want me to.
 
조우: 자네가 원하면 내가 같이 갈께.
 
Wes: I would love it. You know a lot more about computers than I do.
 
웨스: 그러면 좋지. 자네가 나보다 컴퓨터에 대해서야 많이 알잖아.

*bring up: (얘기를) 꺼내다

(제가 꺼낸 아이디어를 모두다 좋아했습니다.)
 
*come up with: (아이디어 해답 등을) 생각해내다
"She came up with all the ideas, but I had todo all the work."
(그 여자가 아이디어를 내기는 했지만 그 다음 일은 죄다 제가 해야했습니다.)
 
*shop around: 물건을 고르다
"We shopped around for the best deal on a new car."
(우린 새 차 살 때 제일 좋은 가격 찾으려고 돌아다녔습니다.)
