Emily is talking to a new neighbor at the supermarket. (에밀리가 수퍼마켓에서 새로 이사온 이웃과 이야기 하고 있다.)
 
Angela: Emily, you really have a lot of food in your shopping cart.
 
앤젤라: 에밀리, 카트를 보니 음식을 정말 많이 샀네요.
 
Emily: I sure do. I have a lot of mouths to feed.
 

에밀리: 많이 샀죠. 식구가 많아서요.
 
Angela: How many children do you have?
 
앤젤라: 아이들이 몇이나 되요?
 
Emily: I have three from a previous marriage and my husband has three from his first marriage.
 
에밀리: 제가 전남편 사이에서 낳은 애가 셋이고 남편도 전부인과 사이에 세 아이가 있고요.
 
Angela: Oh I think that's called a blended family.
 
앤젤라: 아 혼합 가족이시군요.
 
Emily: Yes it is. Three boys and three girls.
 
에밀리: 예 맞아요. 남자애가 셋 여자애가 셋이에요.
 
Angela: How do they get along?
 
앤젤라: 서로 잘 지내요?
 
Emily: It was hard at first but now they treat each other like brother and sister.
 
에밀리: 처음엔 힘들었는데 지금은 친형제 친자매처럼 잘 해줘요.
 
Angela: It must be very difficult. You deserve a medal.
 
앤젤라: 정말 힘들었겠어요. 용하세요.
 
Emily: It's a lot of work but I'm learning so much.
 
에밀리: 어려운 일이지만 아주 많은 걸 배우고 있어요.
