[오늘의 생활영어] to be due for (something to happen); ~ 할 때가 됐다

David and Roger are talking at work during a break.
(데이비드와 로저가 직장에서 휴식시간을 이용해 얘기한다.)
 
David: We're due for a school picnic aren't we?
 
데이비드: 학교 소풍 갈 때가 됐지 안그래?
 
Roger: Yes we are. When should we have it?

 
로저: 맞아. 언제 갈까?
 
David: Our director is out of town so we'll have to wait for him to come back.
 
데이비드: 원장님은 여행 때문에 안계시니까 돌아오실 때까지 기다려야지 뭐.
 
Roger: He's returning next Monday on the 23rd.
 
로저: 23일 다음 월요일에 돌아오실 걸.
 
David: We always have it on a Friday so how about the 11th or the 18th.
 
데이비드: 항상 금요일에 하니까 11일이나 18일이 어떨까.  
 
Roger: Either date is okay by me.
 
로저: 난 아무 날이나 괜찮아.
 
David: I'll ask the other teachers and see what they think.
 
데이비드: 내가 다른 선생님들이 어떻게 생각하는지 물어볼게.  
 
Roger: Where are we going to have the picnic?
 
로저: 소풍은 어디로 갈까?
 
David: I'd like to try the park by me.  
 
데이비드: 우리 집 근처의 공원으로 가봤으면 해.  
 
Roger: Yes that park is much closer to the school than the one we've been going to.
 
로저: 그래 그 공원은 이제껏 가던 공원보다 훨씬 학교와도 가깝지.
