Matthew is talking to his roommate Joe. (매튜가 룸메이트 조와 말하고 있다.)
 
Matthew: I have to return some books to the library today.
 
매튜: 오늘 도서관에 책을 몇 권 반납해야 돼.
 
Joe: I can give you a lift.
 

조: 내가 태워다 줄게.
 
Matthew: Really?
 
매튜: 정말?
 
Joe: Sure. I'm going in that direction.
 
조: 그럼. 같은 방향으로 가거든.
 
Matthew: Where are you going today?
 
매튜: 오늘 어디 가는데?
 
Joe: I'm going to the beach. I want to get in some surfing.
 
조: 바닷가에 갈 거야. 파도타기를 좀 하려고.
 
Matthew: The waves are good today.
 
매튜: 오늘 파도가 아주 좋더라.
 
Joe: I know. I was listening to the weather report on TV last night.
 
조: 맞아. 나도 어젯밤에 TV에서 날씨 예보를 봤거든.  
 
Matthew: I'll catch a bus home from the library.
 
매튜: 도서관에서 집으로 갈 때는 버스 타고 갈게.
 
Joe: I'm ready to go if you are.
 
조: 괜찮으면 지금 출발하자.

*(one) is going in that direction: 같은 방향으로 가다.  
 
"I'm not going to the mall but I'm going in that direction. I can take you there." (난 샤핑몰에는 안 갈 거야. 하지만 같은 방향이니까 거기까지 태워다 줄게.)
 
*get in (some activity): (무슨 일을 할) 기회를 찾다.  
 
"I want to get in some shows on Broadway when I'm in New York." (뉴욕에 가면 브로드웨이 쇼에 참여할 기회를 만들고 싶어.)
 
*catch a bus: 버스를 타다.  
 
"I catch a bus every morning at 8:00." (전 매일 아침 8시에 버스를 타요.)
