Derek: Something came up at the last minute.

Jason: Too bad. We had a great time and the food was out of this world.

Derek: I was sorry to miss it but it couldn't be helped.

Jason: It must have been important for you to miss a party.

Derek: Actually it was. It was my boss.

Jason: He called you on the weekend?

Derek: He thinks he can call you anytime and anywhere.

Jason: What did he want?

Derek: To give me more work to do.
