(Joan and her daughter Susan are preparing dinner…)

Joan: How's the soup? It smells good.

Susan: (Putting salt in the soup) Here try it. Tell me how it is.

Joan: (Tasting the soup) Wow! You put too much salt in it.

Susan: Did I overdo it?

Joan: Yes. Let me take over.

Susan: Should I set the table?

Joan: Yes please. And you don't have to put salt on the table.

Susan: Is the rice ready?

Joan: It's close to being done.

Susan: What do you want to drink?

*take over: 인계받다.

“Joseph will take over my class while I’m on vacation.”

*set the table: 식탁을 차리다.

“Lunch is almost ready! Will somebody set the table, please?”

*close to being done (or finished): 거의 끝나다.

“I’m close to finishing my homework.”
