[오늘의 생활영어] (one) went out like a light; 금방 곯아 떨어지다

(Roger is talking to his friend Dan who is visiting him…)

Roger: So how did you sleep last night?

Dan: I slept like a baby.

Roger: You did?

Dan: Yes. I went out like a light.

Roger: Good. You‘re a sound sleeper. There was so much noise last night.

Dan: What do you mean?

Roger: Well there were two cats fighting and a helicopter was going by every few minutes.

Dan: Wow. I didn’t hear anything.

Roger: You‘re lucky. I couldn’t sleep a wink.

Dan: That‘s too bad.
