Roger: So when are you coming to Los Angeles?

라저: 그래 LA에는 언제 올 거야?

Dan: I have a medical convention there on the weekend of June 20th. Are you free?

댄: 6월 20일 주말에 LA서 열리는 의학회의에 참석하는데 너 시간 돼?

Roger: Oh no I'm not! I'm going to be tied up that weekend.

라저: 이런 시간 안 돼! 그 때 주말은 바빠서 꼼짝 못 해.

Dan: Oh? What are you doing?

댄: 그래? 뭐 하는데?

Roger: I'm meeting with a text book publisher who wants me to write a book for his publishing company.

라저: 교과서 출판사에서 책을 써달라고 해서 만나기로 했어.

Dan: Hey that's great! 댄: 그거 잘 됐네!

Roger: I know but we won't be able to hook up when you're here.

라저: 그렇긴 한데 네가 오는데 못 만날 것 같아서.

Dan: That's okay. We can talk on the phone.

댄: 괜찮아. 전화로 얘기하면 되지.

Roger: Maybe this summer I can make it up to see you in Seattle.

라저: 어쩌면 이번 여름에 널 만나러 시애틀로 올라갈 수 있을 것 같아.

Dan: Sure. That would be great.

댄: 그래. 그럼 좋지.

*make it up (to some where): 북쪽으로 올라가다. (남쪽으로 내려가다는 make it down.)
