[오늘의 생활영어] can't stand (someone or something); 질색이다
Cindy: Hi Burt. What happened to your face? It looks swollen.
Burt: I had to get two cavities filled this morning.
Cindy: Does it hurt?
Burt: Yeah. The novacaine is wearing off and now my mouth is killing me.
Cindy: Well I guess you learned your lesson.
Burt: What do you mean?
Cindy: You have to take better care of your teeth.
Burt: No kidding. I can't stand the pain and it's expensive.
Cindy: Don't you have dental insurance?
Burt: I do but it doesn't cover everything.
