Dick: Do you have time for coffee?

딕: 커피 한 잔 할 시간 있어?

Kent: Not at the moment. Where are you?

켄트: 지금은 시간이 안 돼. 넌 어디야?

Dick: I'm out and about. My schedule is flexible today.

딕: 여기 저기 돌아다니고 있어. 오늘 스케줄에 융통성이 있어서.

Kent: In other words you're not working today.

켄트: 다른 말로 하면 오늘 일을 안하고 있다는 거네.

Dick: You sound jealous.

딕: 내가 부럽다 이거지.

Kent: It would be nice to have the freedom you have. 켄트: 너처럼 자유가 있었으면 좋겠다.

Dick: Then you should have been a salesman.

딕: 그럼 너도 세일즈를 했어야지.

Kent: It's too late for that. I've got some work to wrap up. I can meet you in twenty minutes.

켄트: 그러기엔 너무 늦었지. 마무리할 일이 좀 남았는데 20분 뒤에는 볼 수 있어.

Dick: That's perfect. Call me if you get side-tracked.

딕: 딱 좋아. 다른 일이 생기면 전화해.

Kent: I will. See you at Starbucks.

켄트: 그럴게. 스타벅스에서 보자.

기억할만한 표현

*in other words … : 다른 말로 하면.

"I don't think you work hard enough. In other words you are lazy."

(일을 아주 열심히 한 것 같지 않아. 다른 말로 하면 게으름을 피웠네.)

*wrap (something) up: (무엇을) 마무리하다 (또는 wrap up something).

"Both companies expect to wrap up the deal on Friday."

(두 회사는 금요일에 거래를 마무리 지을 예정입니다.)

*be or get side-tracked: (주제나 하던일에서) 벗어나다.

"We were talking about the book but then we got side-tracked."

(책 이야기를 하고 있었는데 옆길로 샜습니다.)
