5 Asian media agencies sign MOU on cooperation
Chicago, Nov. 11 -The Korea Daily Chicago(Korean), The Epoch Times(Chinese), India Tribune(Indian), Jangle(Japanese) and New Chinese Media TV(Chinese) signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU) on sharing experience and information on Wednesday.Under the MOU signed by Hyun Kee Kwon(publisher o, Korea Daily Chicago), Andrew Tu(director of business development o, The Epoch Times), Prashant Shah(publisher o, Indian Tribune), Yoshio Ishida(sales manager o, Jangle), the 5 agencies will exchange contents and news resource, as well as developing publications. The agreement also calls for exploring possibilities for promotion and collaboration of advertising and special events.
The Asian news agencies agreed on their responsibilities for promoting unity of Asian-American community by expressing Asians issues to governments and encouraging broader participation of Asians in the United States.
“As a major media for Korean, Indian, Chinese and Japanese community, each of our company has committed for the informational needs for four other Asian communities. Together, we can advance the integration of Asian immigrants into the United States. Also, I am confident that we can find better solution to overcome this economic downturn,” said Kwon at the MOU signing ceremony.
“In this country, a number speaks. With the good number of Asians in whole, we can achieve more power and be effective. We are not competing each other,” said Shah for India Tribune.
Ishida for Jangle said “I see lots of possibilities. We can not only share advertising profits, but also link our online news. In the long run, we can differentiate ourselves from other media.”
Tu for The Epoch Times said “It is a brand benefit for everybody. It is cooperation for whole Asian. Obama said ‘Yes, we can.’ I think yes we can develop new Asian market, together."
“Not like Latinos, Asians are quite. I am glad we have a starting point finally. We can expect political participation and economic growth for Asian community. At the same time, we need keep strong ethics of media to be healthy press,” said Karen Yibing Huang for New Chinese Media.
